Student Technician Recruitment

OCADA has become a valuable resource and has helped secure scholarships for students participating in the OCADA programs. We are proud to announce that through these efforts, 47% of the scholarships awarded by the California New Car Dealer Scholarship Foundation in 2010 were given to Orange County students to pursue their automotive technology studies.

Careers in Automotive Technology

“A career in the automotive industry gives the students the opportunity to work with the latest technology and take home a great paycheck,” said John Patterson, Orange County Automobile Dealers Association and owner of Tustin Mazda and OC Hyundai. “I applaud these outstanding students and my fellow dealers here in Orange County, who despite trying economic times enthusiastically support these students and our community in so many ways.”

The U.S. Department of Labor reports that job opportunities in this occupation are “very good” for people who have a strong technical background and training. The industry is expected to add 11,000 jobs annually through 2016, with automotive technicians making upwards of $100,000 annually.
